Draping on the Stand

Rose learned to design by draping in Paris, and since then, it has been one of her favourite ways to discover new shapes.

We start by using a fabric similar in weight to the fabric the final garment will be made from. Using straight lines on the mannequin, we can place the fabric on it so that it will fall nicely. From here, anything goes, and we spend hours playing around with new collar styles, draped gowns and dresses.
