One of a pair of antique European Bergère chairs with beautiful, generous proportions. The chair was sourced for the purpose of re-upholstering it with painter's canvas to be painted by hand. 

The chair has largely been left in the original condition with some weathering to the wooden arms and back. The cane is intact but not for everyday use. To be considered an art object for occasional sitting.

The seat has been updated with a hand painted cherubic sky conceived and painted by artist Rose Fulbright. 

Hand painted in acrylic paint on cotton duck and finished with imitation gold leaf to a repair, kintsugi style, and furniture wax.

Light & Water is a series of paintings and painted furniture that was inspired by a family trip to Scandinavia in 2023. In this body of work, Rose explores her experiences of awe in nature, working with the most unifying element of human experience, the sky above.

This functional art work is created from a charming vintage item that has been refurbished but retains slight original wear and tear, to the taste of the artist.
