The Yin and Yang lamps are a unique pair of ceramic bedside lamps sourced from the archive at Portmeirion Village, North Wales, for the purpose of painting by hand. 

The original dark green finish has been refreshed and updated with a hand painted expressionist Sun and Moon designs for each, conceived and painted by artist Rose Fulbright. Vibrant colours and beautiful translucent layers of paint give these lamps an artistic and evocative feel.

Hand painted in natural chalk paint and finished with lacquer. Price includes basic shades shown in the picture, if desired, dimensions given are for the lamp bases only.

These pieces are from the Light & Water Collection, which was showcased in a solo show in Surrey, United Kingdom, in July 2024.

Light & Water is a series of paintings and painted furniture that was inspired by a family trip to Scandinavia in 2023. In this body of work, Rose explores her experiences of awe in nature, working with the most unifying element of human experience, the sky above.

This functional art work is created from a charming vintage item that has been refurbished but retains slight original wear and tear, to the taste of the artist.
