Monotypes are original works on paper that are each unique and unrepeatable. They are handmade from start to finish, painting oil or watercolours directly onto aluminium plates which are then printed onto archival-quality paper using a Victorian printing press.

Linocuts differ in that they can be made into repeatable images, yet each is unique with often a huge variety of different nuances in the finished work. They begin as a hand carving to which paint is applied before being hand pressed. Despite originating from the same carving they all vary with different pressures and paint application techniques to become unique works on paper.
